Beating Fear

Hello, and welcome to this week’s edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of North America’s foremost racialist organization, the National Alliance. I’m your host and Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe.

The Alliance is the only patriotic organization in this country that has stood the test of time. And as the racial situation worsens and our ideals become more and more appealing to a wider audience of Whites, I see more of our kinsmen considering our message and joining with us. But while we are currently living in perhaps the best recruiting atmosphere for Our Cause since the 1992 Los Angeles race riots, or maybe even since the Second World War, many Whites are still too “fearful” to pursue membership in the Alliance.

Of course, being organized has been proven throughout history to be a winning formula, and that is why our enemies do all they can to try and prevent Whites from organizing on a serious level. Look at the Jews and the positions at the top they find themselves in, if they weren’t organized they’d be on the outside looking in, let alone have their Zionist state of Israel. There are literally hundreds of Jewish organizations in America, all appearing to act in concert with one another toward their goals. The Jews aren’t living in fear of holding membership in a Jewish organization, and certainly aren’t afraid of their names appearing on a mailing list.

Here’s an example that is all too typical of a successful Jew. Scanning through the obituaries in the local newspaper, a recently deceased Jewish physician stands out. Besides having had a successful medical practice for 52 years, the late doctor, who was a father of four and grandfather of eight, is said to have been an engaged participant in the Jewish Community, board member of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, active in the Physician Division of Jewish Welfare, Chairman of the Ohio Council for Holocaust Education at Kent State University, and board member of a home for the aged where many elderly Jews reside. Now that’s quite an impressive resume. If only more Whites held such credentials in organizations serving the interests of our race, the future of our people would look much brighter.



Now from the vantage point of my position, I’d like to share with you some observations on how fear affects us. The fact that the fear of exposure plays a definite role in the thinking of many White racial activists is evident in various ways. Some National Alliance members, for example, choose to use a nom de guerre in all of their Alliance interactions. They use this nom de guerre at all Alliance activities or gatherings, and most other members know them only by their fake names. They might have their membership correspondence sent to a P.O. Box or to another member who then forwards that mail to the appropriate address.

Many members admit that they are still very much “in the closet;” their neighbors don’t know of their involvement, and neither do their relatives. Some refuse to get involved in Local Unit activities such as handing out leaflets or participating in a local demonstration for fear of being recognized by someone they know. The perception – and I stress the word “perception” – that our worldview is held in contempt by the majority of the population is a powerful incentive for many members to stay under the radar rather than wade out into the open sea of the propaganda battle.

Such fears are natural. Few people like to stick out from the crowd. No person wants to be viewed as an outsider, especially as an outsider that most people consider to be possibly dangerous. But what most members fail to fully realize is that most Whites, at some level, want what we want: a society that is free from the racial chaos that we see all around us. Most of them would prefer a society that is all-White; they just aren’t willing to admit it. And they aren’t willing to admit it because they have been taught by the Jewish media that racial loyalty is a crime against humanity, and they have been taught by their spiritual “leaders” that racial loyalty is their one-way ticket to Hell.

I don’t mean to suggest that every member who now keeps his membership in the closet should dump his nom de guerre and go public with his Alliance activities. Keeping your membership private – if that is your wish – is your business, and if you aren’t comfortable having your neighbors and relatives knowing about your racial beliefs, then there is no reason to come out of the closet at this time. Some members are in a sensitive employment situation, and exposure could lead to actions being taken against them. For those people, we are content with them being active in whatever way suits them best. Every member should always do a proper risk assessment to determine whether to participate in a certain Alliance activity; being without employment can cripple not only a person’s membership, but also his financial well-being and his ability to provide for his family.

But on the other hand, every member should fully understand that the Jews’ use of the fear of exposure only works when a member accepts the false assumption that there is something wrong or sinful about being a member of the National Alliance, or that there is something wrong or sinful about wishing for – and working toward – homogeneous racial states.

Just in case you are unclear as to your own views on such matters: There is nothing wrong or sinful about the racial views and goals of the National Alliance. There is no shame in standing up for the interests of the gene pool that brought you into being. And there is nothing secretive or subversive about the National Alliance or its program for White renewal. Quite to the contrary. We are wide open about what we want: a White racial homeland. And we are wide open about how we intend to get it: by getting the various powers-that-be together to divvy up the land, and by securing some of that land for ourselves and no one else.

Now, to DO that, we are first attempting to build the Alliance into one of those powers-that-be. It doesn’t do much good for us to stand outside the circle of power and call out our demands. In that situation, those in the circle will do to us just what they have been doing, which is to ignore us and call us names. And anytime we start to make gains toward entering that circle of power, we can expect those now in the circle to huddle closer together to keep us out, and even to launch attacks at us from the safety of the circle, in an attempt to weaken us.

As the influence of our organization continues to grow, however, it is quite likely that more attacks will be launched against us in the form of “exposures” of our members. However much some people would prefer not to hear it, each White activist must come to grips with the possibility that those who are presently unaware of his racial activities – whether they be employers, co-workers, relatives, or neighbors – might somehow learn of his activities or Alliance membership. He must assume that his activities and ideals will come to the attention of the general public, and he must prepare himself to conduct himself appropriately if and when that day arrives.

Some members – a minority among us, I believe – will consider my warning as the very excuse that they are looking for to drop out of the Alliance. These people imagine what would change in their lives if their membership became public knowledge, and they mistakenly believe that their lives would be destroyed. They imagine losing the respect of co-workers and others, and they envision a lost job and resulting financial chaos. For this minority of people, the media’s false perception of the Alliance as a clandestine and malicious organization has sunk in too deeply, and they can’t get past it, even though it has no relation to reality. To them, it’s real, and that’s all they can understand.

But I believe that most Alliance members – whether they know it or not – have what it takes to weather any storm that might come in the wake of exposure. Their willingness to join the Alliance in the first place indicates a level of courage and commitment that most Whites today are as yet unwilling to demonstrate. And supposing that there is a widespread “exposure” attack unleashed against us by our opponents, I believe that that courage and commitment will hold fast. I believe that – if our members prepare themselves for potential exposure and conduct themselves appropriately – the Alliance would survive that attack, just like it has survived every other attack to date. In fact, with a lot of preparation and a little luck, a widespread exposure might possibly be the catalyst that propels the Alliance into that circle of power that I mentioned earlier. Perhaps it is this fear among our enemies that has caused them to refrain from launching such an attack already.

Let’s imagine, for example, a member who has so far kept his Alliance membership a secret. He is well-respected in his position at work. His co-workers, both White and non-White, know him as a hard worker and as one who does his very best on the job. He works well with those around him, of whatever race. His neighbors know him as a friendly person who takes time to stop the lawnmower and chat over the fence every so often. No one would ever suspect him as being a member of a racialist organization and espousing views that would lead to the fragmentation of society along racial lines.

Suddenly, one day, it somehow becomes known that this person is a member of the National Alliance. Word would travel quickly at work, and this member is suddenly faced with the realization that EVERYONE knows of his Alliance membership. What is he to do?

The insecure or ill-prepared member might respond in the following way. He might retreat into himself, shying away from contact with those he formerly associated with, unless contact was absolutely necessary. Assuming he wasn’t fired from his job, he’d keep his interactions with others to a minimum at work. He would lower his eyes more often when dealing with his co-workers, automatically ceding to them the morally superior position. He’d keep his head down when working in the yard, and he wouldn’t look up and wave at passing cars while mowing near the street anymore. If someone brought up the subject of his membership, he might say that he didn’t understand what the organization was all about or that he didn’t agree with all of the organization’s goals. If he’s really insecure, he might be able to tell them that he has already quit the organization and that he is ready to move past it and get on with his family and the rest of his life.

That is a likely response if a member is ill-prepared for exposure, and it is exactly the response that our opponents are hoping for. It would weaken the Alliance by reducing its membership roster by one, and it will reinforce in the mind of everyone who knows this individual that racialism is evil and wrong, and that racialists are – deep down – weaklings and cowards. The White people around this individual would then be even MORE resistant to our ideals, having witnessed someone cave in to pressure after being exposed. After all, who wants to be associated with an organization that – apparently – attracts only hypocrites, people who disown their supposed beliefs as soon as people find out about them?

Now, what would be another way to respond to exposure? If a member has visualized and planned for such a day, the outcome will be very different. It might be just the opposite of what our enemies had hoped for, and it might induce more respect for the member and for the organization from both Whites and non-Whites. That is, it might not only earn the member greater respect from those who know him, but it might also further the Cause of the Alliance.

Imagine the same individual as I mentioned before, and imagine again that his circle of acquaintances – perhaps even the local newspaper – has just become aware of his Alliance membership. But this time, the member has prepared for this moment. He acknowledges his Alliance membership without reservation. He goes about his job as usual, smiling and joking, if that’s his normal behavior, even though it feels odd at first because of the new light in which everyone views him. He still looks everyone in the eye and treats his acquaintances, both White and non-White, with respect and courtesy. As one who has taken pride in his work and his life from Day One – a fact that everyone around him should have recognized – he continues to expect that those around him hold a high opinion of him and of his contribution to the company or the neighborhood, even if they don’t agree with his politics.

He never takes a defensive stance, but rather views questions as opportunities to educate the questioner, and he’s careful not to attempt to change another’s beliefs. When confronted with the apparent contradiction between his White separatist views and his courtesy to the individual non-Whites he knows, the prepared member states honestly that he believes in – and is working toward – a world in which each race will be free to pursue its own destiny, free from the obstructing influences of the other races. That goal of racial separation, however, doesn’t mean that he can’t work with, like, and respect individual non-Whites; it simply means that he believes that for the long-term good of every race on Earth, the best situation is the separation of the races.

He understands (and is now free to state openly) that it is not the fault of any individual that he knows – White or non-White – that our world is in a state of confusion, but he is quick to assert that that understanding doesn’t absolve him of the responsibility to do everything in his power to make the world a better place, as defined by the ideals he holds dear.

He should remain calm under the accusations and during the pot-shots that are bound to hit in the wake of exposure. The aim of those attacks will be to make him knuckle under, to lose his temper and lash out at the attackers, or to humiliate him into a non-entity. If a member can maintain a calm front throughout this assault, keeping a bright face and a pleasant demeanor, the chances are very good that the blitz will subside.

Now, the foregoing is simply my best guess as to the response that would have the best chance of success against a sudden “exposure attack” launched against any National Alliance member. I’ll be the first to admit that it might NOT work.

But it’s got a much better chance of succeeding than renouncing one’s beliefs and quitting the Alliance. It’s got a much better chance than hanging on to the organization but also hanging one’s head like a beaten cur. It’s got a much better chance than losing one’s temper and responding with an angry attack against all of those people whom we identify as being partly responsible for our racial situation.

The success of this response does, however, require some groundwork on the part of the Alliance member. It requires that he gain the reputation of being a good-humored, top-notch employee. Someone who is always cranky – complaining about anything: politics or work-related issues or people – is going to have a tougher time with my idealistic response tactic.

And as soft-headed and hippie-like as it sounds, he must teach himself to lose most, if not all, of the animosity he might once have felt toward other races. Every single one of us has experienced anger at most every race – including our own – at one time or another. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. How anyone can come to an understanding of our race’s peril without having anger well up inside him from time to time is beyond me, and I don’t believe it has ever happened.

But the White person who will make the biggest contribution to Our Cause is the one who can go BEYOND anger. He must focus on the love of his own kind and on the knowledge that what the National Alliance is shooting for is best in the long run for everyone, not just us. Of course, we are most concerned about our children’s future and it’s okay to admit that but, if we succeed, the futures of other gene pools will reap the same benefits that we will. It is no different than wanting the very best for our own children; but that doesn’t mean that we go out of our way to harm our neighbors’ children. If the neighborhood is functioning the way it should, everyone’s children should benefit. Letting go of the anger and pushing it out of the driver’s seat of one’s life is not easy, but if you thought that saving the race was going to be easy, you’re in the wrong organization.

Now, lest all of this sound too “nice” and “fuzzy” for the sentiments of some of us, we must consider the alternatives: aggression, snarls, shouts, finger-pointing, and anger. These methods have a poor history in terms of building a viable cause. They are just the tactics that the Jewish media point to in their attempt to discredit any racialist ideals. In my estimation, an exposed or “outed” member will gain nothing by adopting these tactics in response to an attack. And an organization that bases its interactions with others on such tactics is doomed.

Of course, I don’t mean to suggest that the Alliance has dropped its attitude of a fighting spirit in favor of a “we love everybody” stance. Not in the least. Many of you know that I was formerly a professional boxer, and I’m the first to admit that I’ve got a boxer’s killer instinct. I would imagine that each one of us here has a fire in his gut that makes him want to WIN, at any cost.

So just because we don’t start raining punches down on every obstacle that presents itself doesn’t mean that the Alliance or its membership have gone soft. No; our desire and resolve are harder than ever. Our radical worldview is unchanged. Our final destination – that is, a White racial homeland that is guided by the principles of racial progress – is unchanged. Our determination to succeed at any cost is unchanged.

But to put ourselves in the position to succeed, we can’t any longer rely on the engines of anger and hatred. We must rely on our knowledge of what is right and on our determination to succeed. We must take the high moral ground, holding firmly to our vision of a homogeneous White racial state.

And the optimistic attitude, the love of our race, and the respect we accord other races must not be a put-on; it must not be an act. It must be heartfelt and genuine. And if more of our non-racialist kinsmen could see and understand that side of us, our numbers and influence will become too much for the powers-that-be to ignore. The Jews would have to give us a place at the table of power.

So if we play our cards right and – at the same time – the Jews and their allies STILL refuse us a spot at the table, then there are plenty of other racial groups whose power is growing – the Arabs, for example, as well as separatist Blacks and separatist Hispanics – who will realize that their chances of success will be greatly improved by our voice at the table, and I think they’ll back us rather than the Jews.

Everyone has heard of Friedrich Nietzsche and how he’s famous for popularizing the concept of the Superman, a hypothetical human that we can barely imagine, a being of infinitely more ability than humans have today. And I’ll admit that the Superman is a part of my personal racial vision; once we have secured a monoracial White homeland, we can focus energy and resources on elevating the race and bringing our people’s qualities nearer to those of Nietzsche’s Superman.

But despite the fame of the Superman idea, ironically most of Nietzsche’s writings deal NOT with the Superman, but rather with values. He was a master at identifying and critiquing false values – life-denying values – and offering in their place values that were more conducive to higher life; that is, values that would help to set the humans of his day and ours on the road toward the Superman, even though he didn’t always mention the term “Superman” in his value-writings.

In the National Alliance, I see our need to go beyond anger – both as individuals and as an organization – along the lines of Nietzsche’s life-affirming values. It doesn’t mean that anger won’t play a role in our lives; it must play a role. We would not be human if it didn’t, and anger can be an essential and powerful force for positive change if it is properly controlled and channeled.

But taking the moral high ground means that Anger must be out of the pilot’s seat. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that he needs to be escorted out of the cockpit and into the passenger section of the plane. There, his voice will still be heard and his views will be given due consideration, but he won’t be making the decisions. Instead, Dedication, Optimism, Honesty, Good Will, and Determination will be calling the shots.

Those are the qualities that we need to cultivate in our personal lives, and if we get enough people with enough of that positive energy, we’ll have an organization that will be able to haul an entire race onto its back and carry it to the stars... and beyond.
