FLORENCE, Ky. — Police arrested three African immigrants Tuesday in connection with an overnight Laundromat robbery.
Officers said two of the men went inside Turfway Laundry Mat about 2 a.m. while the third man acted as a lookout.
One of the men punched a 53-year-old Bosnian immigrant, and then both men beat him after he fell to the ground, officers said. The men stole $15 from Ruspic and fled, police said.
A K-9 unit tracked down the suspects, identified as a 22-year-old Somalian and a 23-year-old Somalian who are each living in the U.S. as resident aliens. A third suspect was identified as an 18-year-old naturalized citizen from Kenya.
Police said they tracked the men to an apartment in the 7200 block of Crown Court, but they would not open the door.
Officers obtained a search warrant and found the men hiding inside.
All three men were charged with first-degree robbery and taken to the Boone County Jail.
The victim suffered head and facial injuries but is expected to recover.
