One Negro gangster is behind bars and police are searching for two more “usuals” after two Charlotte, NC, White teens were taken to a series of ATMs at gunpoint and forced to empty their bank accounts.
Investigators at the Statesville Police Department were busy gathering evidence from the victim’s car which was used by the suspects during the kidnapping and robbery. They've also been looking through ATM photos. Monday afternoon, officers showed 6NEWS video from the chase that lead to one arrest and showed the recovery of victim Tabitha Champ, 19.
Champ sat in her car, talking to a friend, who wished not to be identified. Police said three men approached the car with guns, forced their way in at gun point and told the teens to drive.
The teens were forced to drive from ATM to ATM, withdrawing money, emptying their accounts. After the gunmen hit the ATMs, they drove the teens to Champ's house.
“Me and my wife wake up in our bed with guns pointed at our heads in our house,” Tabitha’s father, Mark Champ said. The family was held hostage, terrorized and robbed. Then, the gunmen took off.
