An outspoken legislator said something true, but Politically Incorrect about workers from south of the border. This has caused an eruption:
COLORADO STATE REP TOSSED FROM FLOOR FOR CALLING IMMIGRANTS ‘ILLITERATE PEASANTS’
I would like to have the opportunity to state at the microphone why I don't think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado," State Rep. Douglas Bruce (R-Colorado Springs) said.

Bruce's comments were deplorable, but he has a right to say themTribune Opinion
Most reasonable people can agree on this: Whatever his virtues, State Rep. Douglas Bruce, R-Colorado Springs, is frequently disagreeable.
Ever since the real estate mogul and author of the Taxpayers Bill of Rights stopped agitating against big government as a private citizen and was appointed to a position in that government, controversy has been his closest companion. Bruce was appointed to his position to fill a legislative vacancy.
One of the most shocking examples of this controversy -- if not the most recent -- came last week when Bruce made disparaging remarks about Latino migrant workers during debate about HB 1325, a measure aimed at expediting the ability of migrant workers to enter Colorado on temporary visas. Bruce's other lowlights since entering the House of Representatives including kicking a photographer during a prayer session and, most recently, failing to disclose that he was a landlord when he voted against a bill that would have tightened regulation on landlords.
