Dustyn Pence was sent to prison Tuesday for five years after he earlier admitted to sexually touching minor boys and having naked pictures and videos of them.

That was the sentence imposed by Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge John "Skip" West, who could have sent Pence to prison for seven years or given him probation.

The attorney blamed for Pence blamed Pence's boyfriend, Michael Buchanan, 25, for leading Pence to commit the crimes.

"There's not a day that goes by that I don't regret it. I'm sorry," Pence said. "I'm a failure to my own family."

Pence, of Walnut Hills, was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and three counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. His boy victims were ages 13, 15 and 17. In the home Pence and Buchanan shared, police found videos showing one of Pence's underage male relatives showering and one of Pence having sex with another underage male relative.

Buchanan faces similar charges when he goes to trial Oct. 12.

Tuesday's sentence isn't the end of Pence's legal woes.

He faces additional charges in Clermont County because the video showing him having sex with an underage boy was shot there.
